We had a fantastic week working with both The PAST Foundation and NASA. My students had so much fun putting the dome together. It was a huge hit at our Gallery Walk. Thank you for supporting our school.

Good Afternoon! I'm a design teacher at STEM Middle at Baldwin Road Junior High School in Reynoldsburg, OH. Our fifth grade team has been chosen to work on a week long project with NASA. We're developing a rotation to teach our students how settling and surviving on the planet Europa might be possible in the future. I've developed a lesson so our students can take what they learn in each of the rotations and apply it to create a life size space settlement. I believe that it's important for students to have an experience while learning complex concepts.
Since I'm in charge of helping my students build the settlement, I looked on the internet for geodesic dome plans and kits. I was so excited when I found your website! You've come up with a very innovative and cost effective hub design. Unfortunately, being a Title I school, we don't have the funds to purchase the kit until we receive the grant money for this project. I was hoping to have the money well before our launch date, February 9, but I've yet to been given notification of available grant funds. So with your permission, I'd like our students to make the hubs for our geodesic dome settlement, using your hub design.
Furthermore, I like to provide my students with examples of people who are willing to take risks to develop innovative ways to make existing products even better. I believe it's important to show students how innovation and perseverance can lead to great achievements. At the beginning of the quarter, I introduced my students to design engineering, concentrating on the work of James Dyson. The Dyson Foundation lent us a build kit so the students could truly explore what it is to be a design engineer. I would love to share your story with my class. I would be grateful for any information you can give me about your inspiration for this design and your journey to success.

Thank you for responding so quickly. I spoke with my principal about ordering your hub kit and we're going to contact The Past Foundation project coordinator (our contact for the NASA grant project) to see if she can order the kit for us. We decided that we would rather order the kit since we realized that our Foundry has already been reserved next week. My boss asked if you would be willing to sell us a complete kit at a discounted price to streamline the funds to one vendor instead of three. Please let me know as soon as possible so we can order from you in the next two days.
