Jeff Mabbitt - Customer Review of our 25' 3v 5/8 Geodesic Greenhouse Kit
Jeff Mabbitt here. Received the Dome kit. Wasn't able to get around to putting it up until yesterday. Kind of a rainy day, but nonetheless we went ahead and proceeded thru the misty day.
All went well and it was a success. Trying to get a picture to attach, but I'm somewhat technically challenged. All went pretty well, a couple less than perfect rims on a couple hubs, and one cracked hub, but I think some tape over a few breaks will make it OK. I cannot find any fabric clips in the package. I double checked, that they were to come with the kit, and it says yes 15 should be included. Must have been an oversite when packaging. I did not intend on covering it the same day so it did not really slow my progress any. I will send you a picture when I can. Please if you could send me the fabric clips, I would appreciate it.
Hello John et al.
Well my dome has been an education. First I should say that the dome went together well, and I think you have a great product. As with many things in life, the second
time you do something, you have learned and would do a few things differently. The 5/8 dome is very tall. I would not recommend putting the film covering on the outside.
It is hard to manage and if it comes loose at one of the hubs it is practically impossible to get to without a crane. For some reason this year around here we have had incredible winds with
gusts probably clocking 50 60 MPH. With that being said, it has stayed put and really suffered very little damage considering the conditions. I've had some things come up with my schedule
and I haven't been able to spend the time with it that I would like to. I am still getting it into operation. Good product and design though. If you want to send me a shirt it would be a large.
